Zorro algorithmic trading: buy the shovel, not a fairy tale
Zorro Trader is a compact research & execution environment for independent traders: Lite-C (C-like) scripts, fast backtests, walk-forward, and broker hooks. This page is educational only — skills and workflow, never income or return promises.
Disclaimer
Trading involves substantial risk of loss. Nothing here is financial advice. Past backtests do not predict live results.

Why Zorro feels like a shovel
- Script → backtest → optimize → walk-forward in one toolchain, with low friction from research to paper/live.
- Lite-C is close to C: compiled speed for tick/bar loops that feel sluggish in naive Python prototypes.
- Official manual + forum (opserver.de) remain the source of truth for API quirks.
A sane learning order
- Install Zorro, tour Strategy / History / Data / Log folders.
- Run bundled sample scripts; read equity curves and trade lists before writing new logic.
- Learn AssetsFix / transaction costs — ignoring costs invents fantasy P&L.
- Only then optimize + walk-forward. Overfit is the default failure mode.
